ALTERED CARBON: Anthony Mackie Foreshadows Chasing Ghosts In The First Season Two Trailer
I caught a little something this morning about this Kickstarter for an Altered Carbon RPG. I’m not the type for these but you’re welcome to take a look, and with no better timing than the arrival of the first season two teaser trailer for the hit Netflix series based on the novel that launched the IP into sci-fi drama popularity.
Netflix’s ALTERED CARBON: SEASON TWO Lays Out Its Cast
It was announced last summer that Netflix’s neo-noir sci-fi action series, Altered Carbon would get a second season following its successful first outing last February. Joel Kinnaman, Ato Essandoh, and actresses Matha Higareda and Dichen Lachmann led the cast inspired by the Richard K. Morgan’s celebrated novel set in a future where people can “stack” a human conciousness and revive it in a humanoid-like “sleeve”.
ALTERED CARBON Finds New Life As Netflix Anime Series
Dai Sato, the man behind anime classics Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo is now shepherding efforts to bring Altered Carbon to the anime fray. As announced by Netflix in Singapore during a “What’s Next” event, Sato will be joined by Tsukasa Hondo in birthing the new series at animation studio, Anima, exploring new elements of the story mythology in the universe introduced currently in the live-action series.
ALTERED CARBON: Intrigue And Slick Sci-Fi And Cyberpunk Action In The Latest Official Trailer
Richard Morgan’s 2002 novel, Altered Carbon, has something of a readership. This, coupled with actor Joel Kinnaman’s own fanbase has otherwise bolstered something potentially awesome for Laeta Kalogridis’s own upcoming serial treatment of the novel as we await its debut premiere on February 2.
For this, we now have a brand new trailer immersing viewers even further into the dual-sided world of a highly-skilled ex-Envoy Corps soldier reawakend to a new body and harrowing adventures. That role has since been handed to actors Joel Kinnaman (Robocop, Suicide Squad) with Will Yun-Lee (Elektra, Spy)portraying the preceding end of our protagonist’s tale when the show arrives.
In the distant future, human consciousness can be digitized and downloaded into different bodies. Brought back to life after 250 years by Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) the richest man on Earth, ex-Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman / Will Yun Lee) must solve Bancroft’s attempted murder for the chance to live again in a world he doesn’t recognize.
Check out the trailer below and be excited! February 2 will be a great day for television in my opinion!
