Shaun Paul Piccinino (Lionsgate’s American Fighter, Netflix’s That’s Amor and A California Christmas: City Lights) is directing the film based on an original story by Philippe Martinez, and scripted by Martinez and Michael Caissie.

Actor Michael Jai White will star in The Commando, according to Deadline’s Anthony D’Alessandro on Monday.. White, coming off of recently completed actioners such as Christian Sesma’s Take Back, and Jon Keeyes’s Red 48, joins Mickey Rourke who boarded the project last month, with word that production will commence in New Mexico this month.
Jon Keeyes (The Harrowing) is currently busy with independent action thriller, Red 48, with word that production is close to wrapping this week. As Borys Kit at THR notes, Tyrese Gibson is headlining the pic along with Michael Jai White and John Malkovich from a script by Mickey Solis.
