400 BULLETS: Take Aim At The Official Sales Art For The New Jean-Paul Ly Action Thriller Coming In 2021

It’s been a grand minute since we’ve given some lip service here to actor and martial artist Jean-Paul Ly. He’s worked both sides of the lens from shortfilms like Dead End and Law Plancel’s The Division, to stunt work in TV and film including Marvel’s Doctor Strange and Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, his biggest breaks thusfar have been the successes he’s had on the feature front with Jimmy Henderson’s Jailbreak, and Marc Price’s Nightshooters to name a few.

That list now grows a little more with National Film Award Winning and Frightfest favorite, director Tom Paton (Pandorica, Redwood, Black Site) whose sixth film now draws near in the form of military action thriller, 400 Bullets, now aiming for an early 2021 release. Production really played this one close to the chest as very little info was allowed to spill out when we first posted last November, but now we’ve been given the greenlight to showcase the international sales art for the new film which just got some eyes this month for the virtual American Film Market, courtesy of Mosley Studios repping the film on the market front.

400 BULLETS is an edge-of-your-seat Military Action story about what it means to fight for what is right, instead of profit.

One cold winter night in Afghanistan is about to get a whole lot worse for Rana Rae (played by Jean Paul Ly, Netflix’s Jailbreak & Nightshooters), a Ghurka Soldier left to guard a British military outpost, when Captain Noah Brant (played by Andrew Lee Potts – The Crown, Primeval, Alice In Wonderland) arrives looking for refuge from a group of Rogue Special Ops and a cell of heavily armed Taliban.

The two soldiers must fight for their lives as they attempt to get a call out for back-up before the rogue squad, led by the calculating and backstabbing Sergeant Bartlett (James Warren – The Gentlemen) can hunt them down and retrieve a case of missile guidance chips that Noah has managed to escape with.

But Bartlett and his men do not count on Rana, who’s ferocious Ghurka training makes him a force to be reckoned with when it comes to combat. Rana and Noah, armed with only 400 bullets and the Ghurka’s deadly weapon of choice – the Kukri Blade, must battle their way through the Taliban aiding Bartlett and his team of highly trained soldiers if they have any chance of surviving the night.

400 Bullets also stars Adele Oni, Steve Blades, Wayne Gordon, Spencer Collings, Adam Sina, Tina Barnes and Thomas Smart. The film is produced by long time Paton cohort George Burt, and Alexa Waugh, and is executive produced by Paton along with Steve Mosley.

Paton’s recent 2020 U.S. release includes intergalactic thriller, G-LOC, from Lionsgate Home Releasing, and supernatural thriller, Samuel Goldwyn Films’s The Ascent (a.k.a. Black Ops) which had the world’s first Virtual Reality Premiere in conjunctions with Alt-Space in June during the height of the Covid-19 lockdown. Paton is expected to get back into the director’s chair and continue onward with Burt and Mosley for more projects in 2021.

Ly is also in development with other projects, next to his forthcoming appearance in Ross Peacock’s latest action thriller short, Acéré, and a pending return to Henderson’s set for Jailbreak 2 bringing Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman into the fray with Dara Our and Tharoth Sam reprising their roles. The aforementioned Nightshooters is currently being shopped around and is awaiting an announcement for a release stateside in the not too distant future.
