AGENT: Akhil Akkineni Kills And Kills Again In The Trailer For The Telugu Action Spy Thriller

I suppose with most of the John Wick and Pathaan fervor still clearing the air there’s at least a little more room to squeeze in some extra ridiculousness in the action cinema arena, and who better to fill the space in than Telugu filmmaker Surrender Reddy whose latest tribute to spy actioners now arrives with the unapologetically bonkers April 28 release, Agent?

A RAW agent is assigned to take down a crime syndicate headed by “The God” in Budapest, but unfortunate circumstances arises when his master NSG Colonel Mahadev orders the officials to finish him, which leads the agent to head on a wild crusade to investigate the matter.

Agent was previously set for release last year after filming took off in 2021 but delays ultimately led to its current date. The film stars Akhil Akkineni whose career began much earlier in the 90s long prior to nabbing debut lead role in V.V. Vinayak’s 2015 fantasy actioner, Akhil: The Power of Jua, which fell short at the box office but took home multiple awards from festivals.

Agent marks Akkineni’s third action film as well and with Reddy at the helm it looks like they’re pulling out as many stops as they can for the R-rated crowd. The violence is plain as day here with explosive gun battles and katana kills with quite the loss of limbs on full display. NSFW indeed.

Enjoy the trailer!
