Aniplex Of America is tending to a premiere theatrical event on Sunday, March 31 for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. Produced by ufotable (Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy, Fate/Zero), Haruo Sotozaki directs the action and adventure based on Koyoharu Gotoge’s on-going Weekly Shonen Jump manga whose forthcoming anime series will also receive a Japan premiere on April 6.
It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.
Natsuki Hanae (Your lie in April, Fate/Aporcypha) and Akari Kito (BLEND-S, Record of Grancrest War) star respectively as Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado. Rounding out the voice cast are Hiro Shimono (Durarara!!x2, WWW.Working!!), Takahiro Sakurai, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka in supporting roles.
The premiere will be held at Aratani Theatre at 3:00pm PDT, located at 244 S. San Pedro St., Los Angeles, California on March 31 with $10 ticket admissions.
