ANNA: Sasha Luss Is Boundless In The Newest Trailer

Anna (still)

Shanna Besson

A brand new trailer went live over the weekend for director Luc Besson’s latest, Anna. The new female-fronted assassin thriller has debut actress Sasha Luss in the title role, and I’m actually fascinated as to this one will turn out when it hits theaters seeing as the campaign feels abnormally quiet to me apart from the usual requisite TV spots and social media blurbs.

Beneath Anna Poliatova’s striking beauty lies a secret that will unleash her indelible strength and skill to become one of the world’s most feared government assassins. An electrifying thrill ride unfolding with propulsive energy, startling twists and breathtaking action.

Luss is a supermodel making her foray into the action genre following her appearance in Besson’s previous film, Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets. With Anna inbound, arrival couldn’t have come at a better time though what with women currently taking center stage for a number of prospective titles in the last few years, including this year’s Maria, Furie and upcoming Nigerian entry, Muna, so it’ll be cool to learn more about Luss’s preparation for such a physically demanding role as this one. The first trailer in April left a spirited impression and I’m certain action fans will take notice, though I still hope the releasing timing here isn’t an issue – among other things.

Anna also stars Helen Mirren, Cillian Murphy and Luke Evans and has a release date set for this Friday in the U.S. with later summer dates in France next month from Pathe.
