According to Screen’s Michael Rosser, Arrow Video has a deal in place with Shout! Studios to release a series of Hong Kong classics to UK residents. The move comes after a campaign in the U.S. that began with Shout! annoucing its acquisition of 156 titles out of the Golden Princess Film Library, home to titles from directors like John Woo, Ringo Lam, and Tsui Hark.
Much like Shout! and its release plans in the states for the Hong Kong Cinema Classics initiative, the roster will be comprised of titles never-before-released on Blu-Ray in the West. Films like Woo’s Hard Boiled and The Killer, Lam’s City On Fire, and even a slew of Jet Li hits from the 1990s like Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2 and celebrated action classic Fist Of Legend, will be included in the lot with 4K renditions also in the works.
Arrow is already home to a longstanding library of worldly niche titles, including and especially Asian titles. The Hong Kong cinema roster will surely bevy things up some when these get rolled out in the region in 2026.
