ARTEMIS FOWL Chases Fairies And Magic In The Official Disney+ Trailer

The skyrocketed success of Disney+ since launching last November is paving the way for even more shelf-life for its content in the months and years ahead. This comes just as the film industry is now in a state of retooling itself during an uncertain era where films once promised a theatrical release now find themselves in the market for streamers.

Such is the case for Disney’s action fantasy adventure, Artemis Fowl, from director Kenneth Brannagh (Thor). After three theatrical release date pivots, Disney+ is taking the mantle with a streaming date set for Friday, June 12. Based on Eoin Colfer’s YA best seller, Ferdia Shaw stars in the title role, the 12-year old genius descendant in a long line of criminal masterminds. When his father is kidnapped for ransom, he must infiltrate a hidden world of fairies whilst in search of a coveted magical device called the Aculos.

“Artemis Fowl is a true original. In challenging times, a twelve year old criminal mastermind is one heck of a travelling companion. Smart, funny, and cool as mustard, he’ll take you to new worlds, meet unforgettable characters, and mix magic with mayhem. His own family is everything to him, and (although he’d never admit it), he’d be as proud as I am that families around the world will now be able to enjoy his first amazing screen adventures together, on Disney +.” said Branagh,

Shaw is joined by Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Nonso Anozie, Josh McGuire, Nikesh Patel and Adrian Scarborough, with Colin Farrell and Judi Dench.
