ASSASSIN LEGEND (2018): Epic Bloody Revenge Swordplay Chinese Style

At the end of the Warring States period, seven states fought for dominance. The nobles from each state sent brave warriors to duel in the Tiger Arena to resolve various disputes. The warrior from Wei was the minister of war and gained his reputation for defending his country against invaders. However, after he is framed and the country falls in ruin, he picks up with weapons and armor to fight again.

Have you ever wondered what happened with with that badass little kid that kicked ass playing Jet Li´s son in Corey Yuen´s action flick, “My Father is a hero”? (1995) Well, his name is Miu Tse, and he´s a grown up now that has become by his own right in an action star in the vast and wide chinese market where he has starred in more than 30 films until the date.

Assasin Legend is a thrilling tale of love, betrayal and revenge, in which Miu Tse, incarnates Jiang Ke, a chinese historical figure from Tang Dinasty, that has appeared in countless of films, videogames or any kind of media in chinese culture that could exploit his legend. But this is not a biopic, or an account of his achievements as a warrior, this is an exploitation of the myth behind the man, to serve as a vehicle for a martial arts fest, that recalls to the golden years of this type of films.

Throughout the film, we follow Jiang Ke fall to disgrace after have being framed by his superiors and sent to the exile, and the violent path that he has to go through, to come back where he belongs starting again from the bottom. A path that is slowly builded through violence, represented on the screen on insane martial arts sequences, in which Miu Tse, have the chance to showcase his incredible skills as screen fighters. You can feel every hit that the performers throw and land from the safety of your couch. In terms of action, this is a film that would please fans around the world that miss the good old days of hong kong martial arts cinema.
