I suppose if we were ever gonna get a live-action anything attributed to animated series classic, Thundercats, it would only be imbued through more independent measures. Such is what we’re delighted with now thanks to the fanfare offered up in stunt industry multihyphenate and television veteran Larnell Stovall’s new short, Atophrn, hailing this latest inspired work from burgeoning actor Corey Calliet, along with a guest appearance by actor and action star Daniel Bernhardt.
Stovall’s long been a fan favorite among action fans and is no stranger to the director’s chair, having fallen on own my radar many years earlier with shorts like Trouble Everyday and action horror favorite, Steel. He’s got an IMDb page ripe with notable work and to date, remains well on his way having recently completed season three of HBO Max’s Titans, as well as being a self-avowed fan of comic lore and fantasy, which undoubtedly serves to the benefit of this latest collaboration.
Look closely though at the end and you might take a gander at one other major star in this project with his own guest appearance. At best, it’s projects like these which arouse the hope even more of seeing Stovall at the helm of something even bigger and greater in due time. Enjoy!
