BLOODSHOT: Vin Diesel Battles A Time Loop Of Cyclic Vengeance In Two Inaugural Trailers For The Valiant Comics Live-Action Adaptation

BLOODSHOT - Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures

It’s trying times for the comic book genre in which the Valiant Comics Universe now looks to make some headway investing in its own properties. Enter Bloodshot, the brainchild of Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton whose 1992-launched supersoldier character will get its first major studio outing from debut director Dave Wilson, and Marvel franchise player Vin Diesel who gets to notch this one in as a comic book movie milestone.

After he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (played by Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – “Bloodshot.” As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both he and his beautiful wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he thought.

Save for Valiant’s own webseries efforts within the last few years, today marks a first for Valiant Comics as it makes its first entry to the big screen. Sony’s own stake in Bloodshot will see a February 21 release next year while it at least appears they’ll be sharing some of the grunt work with Paramount Pictures who’ve since been transferred duties to bring Valiant Comics adaptation Harbinger to life while somehow ironing out the kinks for its hopeful VCU if it ever happens.

For now, we have Bloodshot, we have a star, a release date, an official trailer AND an international trailer to boot. Feast your eyes well!
