It’s taken quite possibly longer than seven years to materialize, but it’s been just as long since we first saw teaser footage for Ryuji Yamakita’s new film, now titled Bond Of Justice: Kizuna. I shared its teasers that year but heard nary a word about its Kickstarter campaign in 2015, but we now have a new trailer making the rounds to signal what’s to come from Yamakita’s Iki Entertainment indie label.

KATE a rookie detective, happens to blunder into a hit job in progress and see assassins. She is about to be killed for cleaning any witness by one of them, Gen, but he takes pity on her and makes her swear that she will never reveal their identities.

Another day, as Kate’s best friend is murdered by some group; Gondo’s men, Kate finds out Gen as a kitchen cook in the bento shop she is going to normally. She is about to ask her friend’s revenge to Gen and other assassins, but she is denied for poor compensation she brings. In the meantime of dealing between them, they accept her wish which is also joining as an assassin who bets her life from the bottom of her heart in the condition with them.

How will she become as an assassin and as a detective……?

We will find out that each one of life is connected to “bond of justice” which is come from friendship, loves, sincerity and truth among assassins.

Yamakita’s been working on another indepenent project of late titled Messenger but I’m not sure what’s come of it just yet. In the meantime, it’s worth noting the casting for this latest bit of indie action fanfare with notable names like that of David “Bolo Jr.” Yeung (releated undoubtedly to celebrated action star Bolo Yeung), and the late Sonny Chiba who filmed his scenes way long before his untimely passing last August.

The film also features lead actress Courtney Palm (Female Fight Squad), along with Tohoru Masamune (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Sonny Saito (“Hawaii Five-0”), and many more. Follow the film’s progress on Instagram.
