Maverick Entertainment has announced that the boxing youth drama, Boxed In, has been acquired by Peacock and will launch exclusively on the streamer from November 1, and will release on all other platforms from December 1. The film is debut-directed by Ariel Julia Harston with lead actress Reginae Carter (Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta) – daughter to recording artist Lil’ Wayne – in her breakout role.

Ria is an up-and-coming female boxer whose one and only focus is to be the best boxer alive. That’s until she meets Tuga, who shows her that a life without love really isn’t a life at all.

Boxed In also stars Clifton Powell, Zane Copeland, Sean Freeman, and Ernestine Johnson. The film is produced by J. Carter and LaShon Carter, along with Javier McIntosh, Tenia Wright, Reginae Carter, Chiquita Hooks, Ariel Julia Hairston, Azaria Oldacre and Kirsten Grace Hoge.
