BOY KILLS WORLD Narrates Bill Skarsgård’s Three-Step Plan For Boyhood Vengeance In The Official Trailer

I’m kind of hoping Deadpool 2‘s Zeitgeist gets an appearance in Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Beyond that, 2024 is a good year to be Bill Skarsgård.

With The Crow and Robert Eggers’s Nosferatu on deck, it’ll be a sweet, salacious tale of vengeance as teased in the newest official trailer for director Moritz Mohr’s Boy Kills World. Written by Tyler Burton Smith and Arend Remmers, the film also stars Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhian, Andrew Koji, Famke Jansen, and Sharlton Copley, and is produced by Sam Raimi and Roy Lee.

Skarsgård stars as “Boy” who avows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.

Assets have been spilling online for a while now, including a trailer that leaked last year, so it’s great to finally be able to share something that won’t warn a sudden takedown request. Plus, Skarsgård looks ripe for the picking as this film’s protagonist in a preview that will surely accrue some expectations in advance of The Crow, and the bar set in the wake of that film’s legacy.

Boy Kills World opens on April 26 from Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. Enjoy the trailer!
