BUTT BOY: Unsolved Mysteries Go Deep Where The Sun Don’t Shine In The Official Trailer

It’s not everyday you come across a film with a name like Butt Boy. That day came last year as an official Fantastic Fest selection and eventually garnered its deserved praise from critics.

The film hails from the creators of Tiny Cinema, starring Tyler Cornack who directs from a script written with Ryan Koch, and with Tyler Rice, Shelby Dash, Austin Lewis and Kristina Clifford also starring.

Chip Gutchel (Cornack), a bored IT Engineer, has an awakening after a routine prostate exam. What starts as a harmless rectal kink, soon grows into a dangerous addiction as he becomes responsible for a missing child. Chip eventually buries his desires in Alcoholics Anonymous and tries to move on with his life.

Years later, he becomes the sponsor of Russell Fox (Tyler Rice), a newly sober detective. After Chip relapses, Russell is brought in to investigate another missing child at Chip’s office. Russell begins to suspect that Chip’s addiction may not be to alcohol, but something much more sinister. It’s up to Russell now to prove that Chip uses his butt to make people disappear. But who’s going to believe his wild theory?

Butt Boy is billed as a mystery comedy, as well as a genre-defying thriller, and the trailer alone is laced with tons of as much enticing genre cinema appeal as the pull quotes insist.

Koch produced the pic alongside Bill Morean. Tiny Cinema and its filmmakers are repped by Gersh and Plain Text.

Epic Pictures is rolling out the film in select US cinemas beginning April 3, followed by a VOD release April 14 and a subsequent Blu-Ray and DVD release on April 28. UK and Ireland rights go to Blue Finch Film Releasing for a release later this year.
