While the wait has surely been long, it may undoubtedly turn out to be worth it for DC Comics fans rooting for actress Gal Gadot in the wake of premiering this year in Zack Snyder’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice as superheroine favorite, Wonder Woman. Just in time for her 75th anniversary celebration, Comic-Con International is readying the amazonian savior’s promotional run of her new standalone feature film from Monster helmer Patty Jenkins whose appointment as director of the big scale DC property from Warner Bros. hasn’t been without its stumbles, and needless to say, the first phase of the hard part is finally over. SYNOPSIS: Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny. And now, the next phase begins as it has following a first look glimpse on TV earlier this year and with teasers and trailers now pending. This week, Entertainment Weekly is getting in on the fun with a small but solid batch of production stills which you can check out below. Gadot is joined by Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns wrote the film with story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg inspired by William Moulton Marston’s original creation. Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017.
