Actor and stunt performer Alex Chung’s latest film, Contracts, didn’t exactly set out to be a full-length feature at first, and yet, this is where we’re at.
Some ten years and change, a few shorts followed by an extensive independent production and two award wins out of last year’s Toronto After Dark Film Festival, Chung’s feature debut as writer and director is finally on the way to a Blu-Ray, DVD and VOD release on November 10 from Indiecan Entertainment; On-demand pre-orders are now up and running here!
Jaded assassin Anthony Lo (Alex Chung) is tapped on the shoulder by Marc Sullivan (Jermaine Carty), who commands a band of killers dedicated to achieving world peace by any means necessary. Sullivan seeks Anthony’s help to find and eliminate a rogue assassin who’s picking off Sullivan’s crew one by one. In exchange, Sullivan offers Anthony the opportunity to get revenge on the person who killed his ex-wife. Meanwhile, shadow agent Rebecca Fields (Christena Gaunce) climbs the ladder of power, using Sullivan’s team as her own private assassination squad.
To clarify, the film won ‘Best Action Film’ and ‘Best Fight Scene’ at last year’s events. It certainly adds to Chung’s notoriety as he trekked the virtual film festival circuit this year with projects from his Foolhouse Films banner, screening a trio of award-winning shorts: Heart Strings, Beneath Her, and Teenage Love.
Chung’s select screen credits in stunts include The Interview, television’s Heroes Reborn, and D.J. Caruso’s xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage.
