CURSED: Katherine Langford Wields Excalibur In The First Official Netflix Series Teaser Trailer

If you already have the companion book by now, then you’re just in time for the Frank Miller/Tom Wheeler-created gender-bending sword-and-shield period thriller, Cursed. The ten-episode series stars Katherine Langford and will premiere on Netflix beginning July 17, and we now have a trailer to offer a deeper glimpse into the duo’s incarnation of the Arthurian saga with a female twist!

Based on the upcoming book of the same name, Cursed is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.

Miller (Sin City, 300) and Wheeler (Puss in Boots, The Cape) are the creators and exec producers of the show, with the latter also serving as showrunner and writer among those shepherding the series per the episodes. Cursed also stars Devon Terrell, Gustaf Skarsgård, Daniel Sharman, Peter Mullan, Lily Newmark, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Sebastian Armesto, Emily Coates, Catherine Walker and Billy Jenkins.
