DEMON DANCER: Exclusive Trailer Debut For Attila Korosi’s U.S./Korean Independent Fantasy Actioner

Writer/director/producer Attila Korosi’s new fantasy actioner, Demon Dancer, is getting a Korean release on April 30. The independently-produced U.S./Korean production stars Han Jiyeon and Anita Korosi among the roster featured in the latest official trailer.

Demon Dancer: Sua/Nara opens with an intense action sequence in which Sua, a Korean ballerina, is beaten to the edge of death. As her life fades, fragmented memories rush in, revealing the story in flashes that move backward in time to uncover how she reached this moment.

Wisdom Contents Co. is handling the film’s IPTV and OTT platform releases. 1221 Films is repping world sales on the project, and their announcement is especially focused on film’s action framework, mainly spotlighting a key fight scene was filmed on a descending car elevator.

“Thanks to my long-standing collaboration with my South Korean partner, Julio Ko, we secured access to a 20+ story building. I also worked with Korea’s top stunt team, BornStunt, to bring the sequence to life,” Korosi says.

The sequence has been professionally verified by Blue Dragon Award-winning action choreographer Gui-Duck Kwon (Villainess, The Wailing) as the first of its kind in South Korea.

Demon Dancer also stars Joseph Kim, Won Hee Lee and Jungchal Jun. The film is also exec produced by Han and by Jerrod Landress, with Mike Hedayati (Solo: A Star Wars Story, John Wick: Chapter 2, Alita: Battle Angel) serving as VFX supervisor.

The newest trailer below is only the latest iteration of the promo footage that’s been out for a while now following the usual post-production work and travails of independent filmmaking. I’m also told that a limited theatrical release in the U.S. is currently on the table, with a statement from 1221’s Catalina Horwath who added, “With strong momentum and increasing attention in South Korea, we are currently holding off on final U.S. distribution commitments as we evaluate the best strategic partners for a wider rollout later this year.”
