From the looks of the official trailer for Raouf Abdelaziz’s Desert Strike, you would never know that the film, regionally titled Pharaoh’s War in Egypt, stars Amr Saad in the pic.
Alas, we have Mike Tyson and Hafthor Julius Bjornsson a.k.a. “The Mountain” front and center to help bring this one out of obscurity in the West and into the eyes of domestic moviegoers.
An ex-military man, Rick (Mike Tyson), with a mysterious past leads and protects a group of Egyptian refugees through bombarded cities in the desert land when a group of mercenaries, led by Frank, kidnap the refugees’ kids and an attractive young woman, Rama, while imprisoning Rick. With the help of Rama, Rick escapes the prison and battles the guards in an effort to save the kids.
First Showing’s Alex Billington reports that ITN Distribution is stamping an early 2021 release. For better or worse, it’s an action film, and it looks like trash. Hopefully it will be fun trash but… what do you think?
