It was a few years ago when we first covered Enhanced, stunt multi-hyphenate and filmmaker James Mark’s (On The Ropes)follow-up to 2017 sci-fi martial arts thriller, Kill Order. Hitting up the Toronto After Dark Film Festival in late 2019 with WTF Films repping international sales thereafter, the newest sign of its North American release now comes thanks to Vertical Entertainment with a rollout slated for March 26 on VOD and Digital.

Stamped as Mark’s third directorial offering, Enhanced ultimately sees Mark’s brother, actor and industry stunt performer Chris Mark (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Boys, October Faction) make his return to the front of the lens following his starring debut in Kill Order. That film saw the younger Mark in the role of David, a high school student battling bouts of mania and torment connected to mysterious superhuman abilities that awaken when an armed tactical squad raids his classroom.

Fast forward to a cliffhanger of sorts that ultimately opens the door for a new villain to emerge, and we now get a glimpse at what looks to be a continuation in Enhanced that now sees actress Alanna Bale headlining a new arc, encompassing the next chapter of the Kill Order saga that also sees actors George Tchortov and Adrian Holmes in key roles. George Shepherd is part of an elite private military unit that specializes in capturing mutant fugitives. When David, a super mutant, claims vengeance against the government, he gains power by eliminating his enhanced allies, getting stronger each time he kills others like him. On the cusp of total domination, George must join forces with an unlikely partner to end David’s killing spree.
