YouTube Poster

After the warming welcome that the film had by the critics, the appreciation of the audience and its recent success on the latest Golden Globes ceremony, it was time for us for show some love on the latest film by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, because we should consider ouselves lucky to live in a multiverse where this film exists. Everything Everywhere all at Once, is a wonderful trip where we follow Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh) a Chinese housewife owner of a laundromat, fed up with her life and circumstances, who unexpectedly starts a journey through different multiverses, in a path paved by the decisions she made in the past, and the ones she didn´tm getting herself into a voyage through what it could’ve been and what actually is, in order to find the perfect balance to keep on living with no remorses, in a plot that is an ode of the importance of family.

The film turns into a mind-blowing experience, with a breathtaking pace that presents a really original premise into an excellent setting, that despite carry some issues of today´s cinema, such as an excessive duration or some nowadays forced inclusive elements, delivers a a madly enjoyable spectacle of fantasy and science fiction, with excellent doses of wacky action and comedy, starred by a gorgeous Michelle Yeoh, I grew up watching her on screen so I can just express admiration towards her. She’s excellent on everything she does, no matter in which multiverse. This film was just a gift for her endless talents. Nonetheless, her co-star, Jonathan Ke Quan, who on his childhood was one of The Goonies, and Indiana Jones sidekick on Temple of Doom, has returned to the world of cinema after decades of absence, in a role that in any other multiverse was perfect for Jackie Chan, but in ours, Jonathan Ke Quan was the right man to filled in his shoes, in an triumphant return in which proves that he was destined to be a star.

No matter in which multiverse you are reading this, that´s my favorite film of 2022
