FIRE Trailer: Alexey Nuhzniy’s New Thriller Sweeps Ablaze Online

Bolstering big scale productions for less coin than the average Hollywood blockbuster, Central Partnership is knocking fervently on wood as it looks to the appeal of international markets for its current slate. Its latest, Fire, comes smartly titled and looks as epic as the trailer aspires presents from the work of director Alexey Nuhzniy on his fourth feature film to date, now aiming for a December 24 release.

A heroic story about firefighters and rescuers. What we call an act of bravery is just a usual routine for them, if only one can get used to mortal danger and extreme risk. When people in distress seem to have nobody who may help them, rescuers come to fight against merciless forces of nature.

The film is produced Leonid Vereshchagin (Three Seconds, The Crew), who took to news outlets back in June ahead of Roskino’s virtual Key Buyers Event, to tout the potential for Russian productions on the world stage.

via Christopher Vourlias, Variety:

“The key thing for us right now is to explain to the foreign buyers primarily, ‘Look, we’ve got great films. We’re not asking the same amount of money as Hollywood independent studios would. But you get the same [quality],’”…

On Fire:

“When you see it, you would not believe that these are special effects,” says Vereshchagin. “It’s a $10 million production. Good luck making that in the U.S. for anything below fifty.”

Them sounds like fightin’ words!

Fire stars Konstantin Khabenskiy, Andrey Smolyakov, Irina Gorbacheva, Victor Dobranravov, Ivan Yankovsky and Stasya Miloslavskaya, and is also produced by Anton Zlatopolsky and Nikita Mikhalkov (Three Seconds) and Rafael Minasbekyan (Furious).
