There’s no question that Timo Tjahjanto’s rampaging Netflix hit thriller, The Night Comes For Us, has continued to set a defining tone for the presence of Indonesian cinema in today’s film market. It’s certainly set a good precedence for veteran Hollywood blockbuster producer Mario Kassar whose own prospective return to film of late will once again bring the region back to center stage next year with Randy Korompis‘ new dystopian sci-fi, Foxtrot Six.
Tacking on a cast that sees The Raid 2 co-star, actor Oka Antara headlining, Korompis directs from his own script that sets its story in a world where rising climate change is collapsing the world economy, leaving Indonesia as the global epicenter for all natural resources. At the core of our story lies an elite soldier who finds himself at a precipice amid deadly conspiracies and unraveling truths between the usurped government he serves, and the rebels fighting back – this, as the world’s last great superpower becomes ground zero for the ultimate battle for mankind.
On Friday, the production teased a live event set for Saturday with the cast signaling a second official teaser which you can look out for in the player above. The stream kicks off at 8:00pm EST so sit back, check it out and take notes!
