FROM TODAY, IT’S MY TURN!! Trailer: Kento Kaku And Hideaki Ito Take To The Streets!

I always imagined there would be a Gintama trilogy, though with two movies and two miniseries sets, director Yuichi Fukuda has put in a noble and welcome effort into live-action manga service for the filmgoing crowd.

And indeed, the man additionally behind such adaptations as Hentai Kamen, Psychic Kusuo and Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku, is back with From Today, It’s My Turn!! – best known to manga regulars as Kyo Kara Ore Wa!

A follow up from his live-action 2018 NTV series, Fukuda reunites with Kento Kaku and Demekin star Kentaro Ito for a story based on Hiroyuki Nishimori’s 1988 gag manga. It centers on Takashi Mitsuhashi (Kaku) and Shinji Ito (Ito), Nanyo High transfers who, though polar opposites of one another, pair up to be the strongest delinquents of Japan.

The cast also features Nana Seino, Kanna Hashimoto, Taiga Nakano and many more. The official trailer is out as of this week and if you’ve seen Fukuda’s work, you’ll notice the distinctive style of transitioning manga to film he applies with noteworthy appeal from fans – from costumes and set pieces to character delivery.
