Netflix has been on a tear with it’s original animated offerings, and this one seems to be no exception. Premiering exclusively on Netflix, Tekken Bloodline, an anime based on the popular 3D fighting game by Bandai Namco has long been teased, and finally has a release date and new trailer. The trailer is full of small details that will be a treat for fans of the series, and longtime series lead Katsuhiro Harada has said that “die hard fans of the original and new viewers as well will discover many new things that will make them say, ‘so that’s what happened!’ ”
“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Tekken, which released in Japanese arcades in late 1994, would be hailed as a triumph almost universally, and would be a top seller worldwide, being the first Playstation game to break a million units sold, and the best selling fighting game for Playstation, both according to Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition. The series revolves around the powerful multinational corporation, the Mishima Zaibatsu, and the King of Iron Fist fighting tournament held by it’s (very evil) leader, Heihachi Mishima. This anime seems to picks up sometime around the events of Tekken 3, and the trailer features fan favorites such as Paul Phoenix and Nina Williams, as well as newcomer to the series, Leroy Smith, who made his debut in Tekken 7.
