GOTHAM KNIGHTS TV Series in Development at The CW

It was recently announced that a new series in the DC Universe will be making it’s way to TV screens from The CW. Gotham Knights, based on the comics rather than other existing or upcoming projects like the same-named game or Batwoman, takes place after the murder of Bruce Wayne, as his adopted son struggles to maintain peace in a city without it’s dark protector.

Names attached to the project so far include Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux (both, The Vampire Diaries, Gotham) as writers and Executive Producers. Natalie Abrams (Supergirl) is writing and co-Executive Producer. Representing Berlanti Productions in association with WB Television is Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.

The plot summary as shared by the CW:

In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the ‘Gotham Knights’.

No further information is known at this time. If I may be so bold, if Yoshi or Peter Sudarso, preferably both, aren’t involved with this, then it’s a missed opportunity.  I’m just saying.
