Not long after we got a pair of posters to kick off the campaign for actor and martial artist Ayane’s new shortfilm, Happy Cooking, we now get a brisk new trailer to hold us over in the meantime. Ayane stars and makes her directorial debut on the project which also features actor Masayuki Ino, and Haruki Kakiuchi.
This promo is pretty well done, between the action and comedy beats teased throughout, and I like the touch added with the guitar music. I’m curious to see how this short delivers, and I’m hopeful this will lead to even bigger prospects for Ayane on both sides of the lens.
Happy Cooking will make its festival run in select cities from December into 2026. Check out the trailer:
