Hajime Matsuura’s latest crime flick, Hard-Boiled Recipe, is now out with an official trailer ahead of its upcoming release this Spring. The film reunites Matsuura with actress and recording artist Chiaki Mayumura who also exec produced the film and served as music director.
As previously reported, Matsuura directs Hard-Boiled Recipe from his own script, joining Mayumura with Blade Of The 47 Ronin and Sniper: G.R.I.T. actress Luna Fujimoto for the story centered around a major arms deal in the criminal underworld, enveloping a horde of players on both sides of the law including an unreliable bodyguard (Mayumura) and a courier (Fujimoto). The film also stars Takuma Nagao (Outrage Coda), Sen Fujimaru (Prisoners Of The Ghostland), and Ayane (Mad Cats), along with Ayane Tomiya, Kota Aoyagi, Yoshiki Urayama, Tomoki Kimura, and Mariko Tsutsui, and features action sequences by Isao Karasawa.
Hard-Boiled Recipe, part of the Moosic Lab 2024 line-up following preliminary screenings late last year, opens at Cinemart Shinjuku and in theaters nationwide in Japan on April 26 from Super Bento Entertainment. The film also has a full-on poster, illustrated by Yoshihito Sugawara, which you can view below as well.
