HIGH & LOW: THE WORST: Manga Gangsters Pile On In The Official Trailer For LDH’s New Crossover

I’ve been as curious as ever to ascertain just what the hell High & Low (styled as HiGH&LOW) is all about with a proper viewing of its shows and films. Sadly the franchise still remains without a legitmate stateside release component, though the fact remains that it exhibits one of the most spectacular franchises ever seen in the far east – brained and bred by LDH Pictures with talents spanning its in-house artists of Exile Tribe and the like.

The company now revs up its next chapter of the High & Low saga with a new film opening October 4 titled High & Low: The Worst, directed once more by Shigeaki Kubo and from a script by Norihisa Hiranuma, Shoichiro Masumoto and Kei Watanabe. What’s more? The film is its own triple threat crossing over between characters of the High & Low franchises with those from creator Hiroshi Takahashi’s Worst, and Crows manga slates to form an adjoining cinematic universe.

Set in the territories of Toaru city and the fractiously torn S.W.O.R.D., students from rivaling high schools Oya Koukou and Housen Gakuen will be pitted against each other in an intense rivalry between old and new generation gangsters when peace falls apart. The cast includes Kazuma Kawamura, Hokuto Yoshino, Kohei Fukuyama, Takahide Suzuki, RYU, Ryuji Sato, Satoshi Uekiya, Fuju Kamio, Ken Nakajima, Goki Maeda, Yuki Yamada, Takayuki Suzuki, Wataru Ichinose, Ken Aoki, Sho Kiyohara and Sho Jinnai.

Action director Takahito Ouchi (High & Low series, the Rurouni Kenshin franchise) returns to designate the awesome stunts for Kubo who played a key role in shepherding the hit High & Low dramas and films to TV and box office fruition with producer, Exile Hiro.
