Fresh out of the UAE, we have an inaugural first trailer for IJ: The Secret Parchment which is guaranteed to turn some heads in the new year. The film is based on celebrated author Ishtiaq Ahmed’s decades-long literary IP which took off in 1972, and stars Omair Rana in the title role.

Conjointly, ancient artifacts around the world are vanishing and the archaeologists and scientists responsible for handling them are disappearing too. Questioning who is responsible and why, a rogue diplomat suddenly comes into possession of a valuable artifact and, fearing the dangers that come with it, entrusts it to three children, the cleverest and most ingenious of them all, the Jamsheds. Inspector Jamshed, the lauded detective whose crime-solving accomplishments inspire a nation, is beloved by many and feared by the rest – that is, the criminals. As the relic is now in the hands of the Jamsheds, a suspenseful chase ensues with an array of espionage agents, assassins, underworld thugs, and a secret society that knows the artifact’s true destructive power, all of them determined to take the relic for themselves.
IJ: The Secret Parchment is directed hy Fahd Nur, from a script by Eric Berg and Atif Siddique. Additionally, the film’s requisite action scenes join Accident Man 2 co-helmer and stunt professionals George Kirby, Daniele Balconi and Alois R. K. Torres, with the Andy Long Stunt Team to help bring and enhance all things IJ to audiences on the live-action end of things.
There’s no release date yet as the film is still well in the works, although rest assured audiences in the region will be among the first granted viewership. Here’s hoping there’s room for action fans across the seas to enjoy this one.
