Making way for a release in the near future is In The Shadows, director Anthony Wonke’s new biopictoral boxing drama. Wonke directs from a screenplay by Ursula Rani Sarma, with actress Jasmine Jobson (“Top Boy”) leading the way as British-Somali boxer Ramla Ali who would become the UK’s first Muslim female boxing champion.
IN THE SHADOWS tells the true story of Ramla Ali, the first Somali British professional boxing champion, and her journey to find her own identity in-spite of the world she was born into. Against the odds, she discovers the power of family, love, faith and self-belief as she learns how to open the door to her future.
Finn Cole and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr also star in the film which has since been Altitude Films for International Sales. The trades are also reporting that the film’s producers are now looking to release the film themselves, which comes a week after the film’s initial label, True Brit, filed for administration.
