The campaign has officially begun for next year’s release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Paramount and Skydance are releasing the film on May 23 and the first official teaser and poster have made their debut with none other than Tom Cruise front and center on the artwork, and in the requisite action that’s kept the franchise going since 1996.
The Christopher McQuarrie-directed second chapter to last year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning continues the saga with Cruise going head to head with a looming A.I.-imbued threat backed by a terroristic zealot and his army. We see a little more of what that struggle now entails in the teaser culminating footage from previous films as well, as per the new installment’s tagline which reads “Our lives are the sum of our choices” …oof!
Cruise also stars alongside Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Angela Bassett, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, and Frederick Schmidt.
