The latest and most ambitious project to arise out of Pakistan now has a teaser with Khan Tumhara, directed by Ehteshamuddin and starring Bilal Ashraf and Maya Ali. A mini teaser was revealed earlier this month following a trailer presentation at the tenth edition of the Hum Awards last month.
Penned by Mustafa Afridi and featuring action sequences by Hussain Abdullah and co-star Nick Khan, Khan Tumhara hails from MD Productions and Behive Media, and is slated for May 2026 during the Eid Al Adha holiday. Plot details are scant as of Wednesday upon the trailer’s exclusive push by way of Variety’s Naman Ramachandran, but I’m told that Ashraf plays a taxi driver who moonlights as a crimefighting vigilante.
The teaser at the bottom of the page lends a better eye to the concept at hand, featuring action sequences shepherded by Hussain Abdullah, and Nick Khan. Both Ashraf and Ali spent months preparing for their action sequences, with Ashraf reportedly suffering multiple injuries during production.
Ashraf also produced the film alongside Ehteshamuddin at Behive Transmedia, next to MD Productions’s Momina Duraid. The film’s soundtrack will be presented in Urdu, Punjabi and Pushto languages, according to Ramachandran.
“For years, Pakistani cinema has flirted with action but we have never truly let it bleed,” said Ehteshamuddin. “’Khan Tumhara’ is our answer to that hesitation. Yusuf Khan is not a hero you cheer for from a safe distance; he is the man who drags you into the dust with him where love is a wound; power is a poison; and vengeance is the only prayer left. This is our story, told with our sweat; our scars; our stubborn refusal to look away.”
Ashraf added: “This was more than a film; it was a lifetime education in the craft, paid for with blood, sweat and tears. It has become the benchmark against which I’ll measure every project I ever do from hereon. This journey is dedicated to my late mother and sister, and I am forever thankful to everyone who has been part of this project.”
Producer Duraid said: “’Khan Tumhara’ has something for everyone. A mix of action, romance and comedy. It offers full family entertainment for all age groups.”
Ali added: “Some projects truly stay close to your heart. ‘Khan Tumhara’ is one of them. From planning to pack-up, I had the privilege of witnessing this journey up close. It’s been an honour working with the finest director and actor, Ehtesham Bhai, and the amazing Bilal Ashraf – a brilliant actor; a wonderful human being; and now an exceptional producer. I am incredibly proud to be part of this film and can’t wait for everyone to experience the action and emotion of ‘Khan Tumhara’ this Eid ul Adha.”
Hum Films is handling the release of Khan Tumhara locally while I’m told there are plans under development to build on the property going forward.
I just want to opine that this is probably the biggest project I’ve seen co-star Khan involved in in the decade-plus that I’ve observed his career, particularly in that he’s being given a larger profile than in previous works. He’s amassed a sizeable resumé with an ample load of indie films and shorts and other South Asian projects, but the press behind Khan Tumhara lends something of a greater scale if the messaging here says nothing else, and while this isn’t the first Pakistani action film that I’ve covered, it’s rare to see this kind of stuff out of the region, so if you’re part of the viewing demographic or someone highly invested in Pakistani cinema it’s a moment to relish, for sure. I’m proud of my friends, what can I say?
