Director and action stylist Kevin Le will soon have an audience to himself per this weekend’s festival screening of his newest short, Kings Of Triad: Uprising. The project is a prequel to a short Le and his team released last year dubbed Kings Of Triad with Le starring opposite Jae Phan (Battle B-Boy) in the story of a botched delivery that pits an up-and-coming gangster in a violent tête-à-tête against a young triad King and his soldiers.
Le himself worked the action as well, and with a takeaway that now brings us to his newest follow-up which has a trailer as of last Fall. Alas, I’m taking the liberty of sharing the inaugural project in conjunction with the trailer below for the newest installment as tickets are now available for the latter’s screening this Saturday at TCL Chinese Theater.
Kings Of Triad: Uprising also stars Tarell “Kota” Bullock and sees Philippe Lee reprising his role from the first shortflick. Crack a snack and a bev open and enjoy!
