Indeed, Friday’s trailer launch marks the opening weekend for Kung Fu Soccer, the long-awaited sequel spin-off of 2001’s Shaolin Soccer whose Stephen Chow stakes his claim here at the helm for the film’s release. The cast is led by Zhang Xiaofei, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Lay Zhang, with special appearances by Carina Lau and Rurouni Kenshin screen stalwart Takeru Satoh, and with releases worldwide to be announced in the weeks and months ahead.
Encore Films, who is repping world sales on the pic, will release the film in Singaporean cinemas next month, and have released an international trailer to mark the occasion.
