If you followed us long enough or your ear is close to the goings-on of the bodybuilding world, you’ve likely gotten acquainted with Daniel Stisen at some point or another and learned of his longstanding plans toward film production and acting for the foreseeable future. Enter UK/Swedish action thriller, Last Man Down, which now has an official trailer and poster for its Digital and On Demand release beginning October 19, following its acquisition by Saban Films this year.

After civilization succumbs to a deadly pandemic and his wife is murdered, John Wood – a special forces soldier – abandons his duty and becomes a hermit in the Nordic wilderness. Years later, a wounded woman appears on his doorstep. Maria Johnson is an escaped lab rat, and her pursuers believe her blood is the key to a worldwide cure. Though John is hesitant to get involved, all doubts are cast aside when he discovers Maria’s pursuer is none other than Commander Stone, the man that murdered his wife some years ago.

Judging by the trailer you can pretty much derive the DNA of its inspiration. All in all, we have a dystopian survival revenge thriller with not a whole lot to unpack, but what looks like plenty to score with in terms of thrilling action and fun, with Stisen in character and ready to live his best old school beefcake action star life for today’s audiences. Fun times!

Last Man Down is directed by Fansu Njie with a script by Andreas Vasshaug, storied by both Njie and Stisen who also produced the pic. Stisen is joined by a cast that also includes Olga Kent, Daniel Nehme, Stanislav Yanevski, Madeleine Vall and Natassia Malthe.
