TBS has world sales rights on Last Mile, an explosive new thriller slated for an August 23 release in Japan. The movie reteams director Ayuko Tsukahara and screener Akiko Nogi following their previous work on TBS shows, forensic drama “Unnatural,” and detective serial “MIU404”.
On the day before the Black Friday sale, a box delivered by a global e-commerce company, explodes. The box was sent from one of the biggest warehouses, which has the three-quarter logistic shares around Tokyo.
It leads a series of mysterious bombings that terrorize whole of Japan. Elena Funado, who was just appointed as a new director of the warehouse, is forced to control this unprecedented situation with a line manager, Ko Nashimoto.
Who planted the bombs? For what purpose? How many bombs are left? – And where are they now?
In this modern society, distribution service becomes critical need for our lives and that cannot be stopped. Can Elena and Ko end the serial bombings without stopping blood flowed in “blood vessel”; the global logistics system like a web?
Last Mile stars Hikari Mitsushima (I Am Makimoto) and Masaki Okada (My Missing Valentine), along with Dean Fujioka, Tamae Ando, Sadawo Abe, Shohei Uno, Shohei Hino, and Tomomi Maruyama.
The movie also features a cast comprised of actors from both aforementioned shows: Koji Ookura, Yoshi Sakou, Go Ayano, Gen Hoshino, Jun Hashimoto, Oshiro Maeda, and Aso Kumiko from “MIU404”, and Satomi Ishihara, Arata Iura, Masataka Kubota, Mikako Ichikawa, Ryo Ryusei, Kazuki Lio, Hiroko Yakushimaru, and Yutaka Matsushige from “Unnatural”.
