LEVIATHAN Terrorizes Teens In Space In The First Official Teaser For Toho’s Sci-Fi Horror Adaptation

Author Shiro Kuroi’s three-part sci-fi novel published in 2022 is now the basis of a live-action adaptation in next year’s release, Leviathan. Michihito Fujii (Faceless, Netflix’s “Last Samurai Standing”) and Ryohei Shingu direct the adaptation with a cast led by Shunsuke Michieda (The Last Song You Left Behind) and Natsuki Deguchi (I Have A Secret).

Upon learning that only one person can survive, the 38 students begin killing each other in a wrecked spaceship. With 41 hours remaining until the oxygen runs out, the survival game with a 1/38 chance of survival accelerates.

The first teaser is below, and do note that the faces are obscured with red blotches so as to censor any possible spoilers per the calamity in the story. This looks thrilling, and Fujii’s always been a plus for me.

Toho will release Leviathan in Japan theaters on February 11. Catch the teaser:
