If life has you feeling down any, I think Choi Kook-hee might have the perfect remedy for you. It’s got Psychokinesis star Ryoo Seong-ryong and Alienoid actress Yum Jung-ah. It’s also got music, dancing, a ton of nostalgia and heart for the minute or so of footage we see in the official trailer for Choi’s newest romantic dramedy, Life Is Beautiful.
Suddenly learning she is terminally ill, ‘Se-yeon’ asks her husband, ‘Jin-bong’. the absurd task of helping her find her first love, and he unwillingly joins her search. Along their journey, ‘Se-yeon’ and ‘Jin-bong’ are reminded of the most glittering, beautiful moments of their lives.
The film also stars Park Se-wan and Ong Seong-wu, and opens in theaters September 28 from Lotte who is also handling international sales. The latest trailer is just above, and I figured if this gave me a few happy feels, this might do you the same. Of course it may not be what I typically write about, but given my NYAFF, Fantasia Festival and Japan Cuts coverage, I’d say I’m not so rigid as to ignore this. Get used to it.
