Live-Action MONSTER HUNTER Snags Official Plot Details
Production nears as director Paul W.S. Anderson gears up for live-action video game adaptation, Monster Hunter. On Friday, Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) and Toho Co., Ltd. (Toho) took to the masses to announce a few more details about its new feature film endeavor which Anderson is scripting.
The press release itself described the plot in brief terms as a film thay will depict two protagonists from different respective worlds who must join forces to fend off monsters and survive. The Monster Hunter game series debut in 2004 and now boasts sales of up to well over 50 million units; its most recent release, Monster Hunter: World, sold a record-setting 10 million units.
Joining actress Milla Jovovich, and actors Tony Jaa, Ron Perlman, hip-hop artist-turned-actor T.I. Harris and Mexican actor Diego Boneta, Anderson also writes and will produce the film with Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer for Screen Gems ahead of its U.S. release. Toho will distribute the film in Japan.
