LOKI: See Everyone’s Favorite Trickster in the Trailer

They say (and by “they” I mean the people who create all those memes passed around on social media) that when you are a child, you identify with the superheroes, but when you are an adult, you begin to understand the villains. While I cannot fully agree with this because even growing up there were villains I could empathize with, I do think there may be some truth to it since some villains are just so likable! A good example of this is Loki.

Hear me out.

If you have siblings, you all know that even though parents are not supposed to have favorites, they often treat their children differently. Loki was treated differently. How could you not rebel when growing up in anyone’s shadow, but especially Thor’s?

Loki is a trickster and while he may go too far, was he ever really taught otherwise?

Yes, he played a part in the attack on New York, but the Avengers saved the city so if you really think about it, Loki just set his brother up to shine in the spotlight again. But I digress.

I’m supposed to be introducing you to Loki’s upcoming show. Oh, you haven’t heard of it yet? See? He is being overshadowed again and this time it is not because of Thor, but probably because you’re fully invested in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier or because you’re still thinking about WandaVision or maybe because you’ve been re-watching the Black Widow trailer. Anyway, let’s talk briefly about the upcoming series.

So, similar to WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this series also takes place after Avengers: Endgame. I have liked how each of these series deals with a different part of the fallout of the epic film: Wanda was overwhelmed with grief and Sam and Bucky are having to cope with the aftermath of the blip.

And now it looks like Loki has been tapped to help break what he has fixed: time. According to the trailer, Loki has broken reality and the Time-Keepers need him. But what parts of reality is he fixing? Will other Marvel characters be seen as Loki time travels? I’m assuming he will be time-traveling…Unfortunately, as much as I’ve looked forward to this trailer, it has given me more questions than answers, but it has definitely piqued my interest.

Check out the trailer:

Loki will be streaming on Disney+ starting on June 11, 2021.
