A24 got the ball rolling about a month ago with the first official trailer for director Rose Glass’s titilating new crime thriller, Love Lies Bleeding. As the film nears its March 8 select release and expanded March 15 rollout, the newest trailer is here which you can catch above, as well as a trio of character posters to help bide our time.
Love Lies Bleeding is led by Kristen Stewart, Katy O’Brian and Ed Harris and tells of a reclusive gym manager named Lou (Stewart) who falls hard for Jackie (O’Brian), an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream. As the official synopsis notes, “their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.”
I’m linking the character posters here, here and here, while I’ve taken the liberty of spotlighting probably one of the best posters I’ve seen, created by graphic artist and poster designer Nuno Sarnadas, whose work has convinced many a blogger that his were the makes of studio approved assets. While he does contribute his work to some productions, the poster just beneath is entirely a tribute of his own, and his explanation is easy to take in.
“The inspiration came after watching the second trailer that was released today,” said Sarnadas. “It just looks amazing and I really wanted to do something for it!”
I thought the artwork was cool as hell and I wanted to post it, and Sarnadas has allowed me to do just that.
