MASTER Z: IP MAN LEGACY: A Wing Chun Legend Continues In The First Official Teaser

It’s been what feels like the longest of long times since we last heard from actor Max Zhang. He’s been digging his feet in – albeit slowly but surely – with appearances in films both foreign and stateside, signaled no less by his role in Pacific Rim: Uprising, as well as the upcoming direct-to-DVD threequel, Escape Plan: Devil’s Station, though at least one role has kept many a martial arts fan awake since the ample ceremony he got starring opposite title actor Donnie Yen in Ip Man 3.

This time, the role is now central to its own epic narrative spinning off into the martial arts heavy world of Master Z: Ip Man Legacy, in which we are now welcomed to the new chapter centered on Zhang reprising as master Cheung Tin-Chi. Yuen Woo-Ping is at the helm of this latest spin-off pairing him with Dave Bautista, Michelle Yeoh and Tony Jaa among the cast, and there’s no exact release date and I presume one may come before the year out. The latest teaser that arrived over this weekend should whet appetites ahead of its forthcoming world premiere at Busan International Film Festival soon.

After giving up Wing Chun, Cheung Tin Chi ran into trouble with the local triad and had his home burnt to the ground. He took shelter on Bar Street and found solace from the neighbors. But when he discovered the triad was peddling drugs on Bar Street, Tin Chi took it upon himself to intervene. When the drug lord sought revenge and killed Tin Chi′s friends, he decided to take on the drug lord in a final showdown.

Hong Kong’s legendary martial art choreographer and film director Yuen Woo-ping has come back with his latest action flick Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy. It boasts international action stars like Zhang Jin, Michelle Yeoh, Tony Ja, and Dave Bautista with their splendid martial art performances. Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy is a dazzling, gripping, and astonishingly action-driven film that will satisfy the audiences who are looking for great action scenes especially on a big screen. It is a definitely one of the most essential martial art films that Hong Kong has ever offered.

At any rate, fans in North America can look toward Well Go USA for the film’s stateside rollout when the time comes.
