MMA: MEU MELHOR AMIGO: Marcos Mion Champions Fight Life And Fatherhood In The Official Trailer

Buy Me A Coffee

TV and film steward José Alvarenga Jr. popped up on my radar on Monday thanks to the activity of a few folks in my news feeds. He’s on the road these days promoting his collaborative effort with actor and Brazilian television personality Marcos Mion on the new upcoming sports drama, MMA: Meu Melhor Amigo.

Mion is also an associate producer on the film as well, with a story that bodes as a personal motivator for his attachment since he’s also a real-life activist who advocates for children living with autism. In the movie, Mion plays an mixed martial arts champion at the end of his career and recuperating from a serious injury. He soon learns he’s the father of an 8-year old son with autism, setting the stage for one man’s underdog story as a man resetting his priorities to win over his son, and a fighter driven to return to the ring one last time.

The abbreviation alone suits the marketing here as a fight drama for its Portuguese titling, so, points to the sales folks for that. Its English translation is equally dope as well, and hopefully this film will see its way stateside following its January 16 release in Brazil from Star Distribution.
