MORBIUS Trailer Reveals A Moonlight Sonata Of Madness For The New Marvel/Sony Adaptation

Fresh off the comic book pages of another Marvel IP, the official trailer is out and about for Safe House director Daniel Espinoza’s new film, Morbius.

Tackling the classic antihero for the big screen is actor Jared Leto whose last inglorious comic book outing as Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad didn’t bode too well with the masses. Here, he gets a character all his own and with plenty of meat on the bones to fill up the bellies of fans still pining for more of what Sony can pony up from its Spider-Man and Venom millieu.

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.

Also starring are Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson, and if Michael Keaton’s cameo at the end of the trailer was enough of a hint, expect more easter eggs therein as Marvel enters a new decade.

Morbius arrives in North America July 31. IGN first reported the story.
