MUNA Trailer: Adesua Etomi-Wellington Is All Grown-Up With A Score To Settle

Having built herself a pretty visible raft of credits in television and film, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington now stakes her claim in the genre we follow with Tempting Fate helmer Kevin Nkem Nwankor for female-fronted assassin thriller, Muna. KevStel TV is premiering the official trailer this week with a release date still pending, and with a cast that also lists Adam Huss, Sharon Ifedi, Robert Miano and Onyeka Onwenu.

‘Muna’ is the story of a spirited girl raised by her grandmother; the last surviving member of their family. Muna’s driving desire to provide a better life for herself and grandmother in the land of milk and honey, leads to shady characters that will change the trajectory.

Landing her smack dab into the hands of traffickers, that experience turns her once golden heart into one driven by stone cold revenge on those who stole her innocence. In her grand plan, love was never on the agenda.

When secrets and betrayal complicate her strategy, she has a tough decision to make. Will she remain a prisoner of her past or allow love to set her free?

Look carefully in the trailer and you’ll likely spot Lady Bloodfight and The Scorpion King: Book Of Souls co-star, elevating actress Mayling Ng continuing the usual screen badassery as a key villain opposite our star.

Africa’s been a burgeoning bookmark for cinephiles eyeing festivals regularly, so it’s pretty cool that Nigeria is popping up on our radar. The cinematography leaves a bit to be desired at times but as far as selling a film like Muna goes in the wake of recent titles like The Villainess, Furie and Maria, the trailer does the trick!
