Wang Baoqiang’s latest film has been ramping up its campaign a bit since earlier this year with teasers and promo images for MMA drama, Never Say Never. The film now has an official trailer with a July 6 release date which you can view at the bottom of the page.
For this, we have Wang directing this, his second feature since Buddies In India. He also stars in the film from a script he wrote, based on the true story of a coach who uses MMA training as a means of providing a space for growth and nourishment for underprivileged children. His biggest fight is yet to come, however, when a viral video release negatively shapes his public image, jeopardizing everything he’s worked for.
The trailer definitely achieves selling the controversy that drives the story. Wang knows what he’s doing, and I certainly look forward to seeing how his treatment bodes from start to finish.
