Netflix

I don’t intend to carry water like this for every film. That sort of endeavor is a case-by-case basis, and Ikatan Darah director Sidharta Tata, as we near the November 12 release of his latest survival thriller, Never Surrender on Netflix, is no exception.

The streamer has been slow-brewing its push on this action flick which has since seen a teaser earlier this year, followed by a slew of character promos to whet the appetite. At long last, what looks to be thee official trailer has surfaced.

Read on and check it out beneath the announcement:

Netflix has announced that its latest Indonesian film, Never Surrender, directed by Sidharta Tata, will premiere on November 12. More than just an action film, Never Surrender tells the story of an unlikely hero who fights to reunite his family. The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the chain of events that forces a grandfather to draw on his combat skills to protect his family from the threat of a criminal syndicate.

Set in a small village in Central Java, a grandfather accustomed to living alone must care for his two grandchildren, whom he has not seen in a long time. However, a major problem from Jakarta follows them — and a group of ruthless criminals storms their home, trapping them in a life-threatening situation. To survive, the grandfather and his grandchildren have only two choices: surrender or fight back.

This action film balances high-stakes combat with a heartfelt story about family, highlighting the emotional journey of three generations as they rebuild trust amid grief and atoning for the past. Combining intense fight sequences, tactical ingenuity and family dynamics that feel grounded in real life, Never Surrender marks Sidharta Tata’s first collaboration with renowned producers Kimo Stamboel and Edwin Nazir.

Starring Lukman Sardi, Callista Arum, Sulthan Hamonangan, Derby Romero and Donny Alamsyah, Never Surrender premieres November 12, only on Netflix.
