News Briefs: Eastwood Returns For FAST X; THE KILL ROOM Casts ‘The Unicorn’ Actress; SHE-RA Goes Live-Action; Adkins Boards VIOLENCE OF ACTION

• Universal is on the way with the first of a back-to-back finale of the Fast saga with Louis Leterrier directing Fast X, and with none other than Scott Eastwood confirmed to reprise his role from The Fate Of The Furious. He joins newly-added Alan Ritchson along with Jason Momoa, and the usual Fast cadre led by franchise main Vin Diesel for its May 2023 release. (THR)

• Hitman comedy drama The Kill Room is adding Dree Hemingway to the Yale Entertainment production, which centers on a hitman named Reggie, his boss and an art dealer, and their joint money laundering scheme that accidentally turns the Reggie into an overnight Avant-Garde sensation, forcing the dealer to play the art world against the underworld. Nicol Paone is directing from a script by Jonathan Jacobson for a cast that also lists Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Joe Manganiello, Maya Hawke, Debi Mazar and Larry Pine. (Deadline)

• Nicole Kassell will take the wheel for a live-action series adaptation of She-Ra, which has been in development as of its announcement last Fall. She will direct and exec produce the pilot based on the classic cartoon and Mattel property that shares the same universe as her twin brother, He-Man. A writer still awaits attaching. (Variety)

• Scott Adkins will reunite with Jarhead 3: The Siege director William Kaufman for Violence Of Action, alongside Cam Cigandet with a screenplay by Josh Ridgway and Chad Law. The film centers on “The story of a former SEAL, tormented by a decision he made in Afghanistan, (who) becomes a vigilante in the Big Easy who is brutally taking down a drug gang that is terrorizing his neighborhood.” Grandave International is handling world sales.
